In the coming years, profiles specialized in sustainability management will be increasingly in demand. Organizations need to incorporate new corporate sustainability and sustainable development strategies to respond to the complexity arising from current production and consumption models, as well as from business activity itself. All of this takes place in a context marked by growing environmental and social awareness and by a paradigm shift driven by the Green Transition, the 2030 Agenda, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
To address this context, the master’s program will provide you with the tools needed to manage sustainability within organizations, taking into account their social and economic objectives. It will also equip you with the strategic insights required to effectively apply concepts such as circular economy, energy transition, and the SDGs.
The program covers the economic, social, and environmental dimensions of sustainability through a practical and applied methodology, with a solid technical foundation, training in corporate management, and an introduction to impact measurement and its communication to stakeholders. You can find more information in the Study Plan and Methodology section.
UPF Barcelona School of Management (UPF-BSM) holds the EQUIS accreditation, one of the most prestigious international recognitions.
The school has also been awarded the quality seal of the Business Graduates Association (BGA), an accreditation that endorses academic quality in business schools worldwide and reinforces the academic excellence of the program. This recognition provides a distinctive value to this official master’s degree, as it certifies a methodology aligned with current market needs, the training of professionals with an international perspective, and a program structure focused on developing skills applicable across different sectors. UPF-BSM is the first and only business school in Spain to hold this accreditation and the eighth institution in Europe to achieve it.
Since 2021, the school has also held the Business School Impact System (BSIS) label awarded by EFMD Global. The BSIS report highlights that the school actively contributes to knowledge creation through its research projects with companies and local institutions. This label, recently renewed, allows students to attend seminars, symposiums, and debates, fostering the exchange of ideas and intellectual discussion, and facilitating professional dialogue on current challenges such as corporate sustainability and decision-making in complex 21st-century environments.
The program features faculty specialized in sustainability from UPF-BSM and ESCI-UPF. In addition, active professionals will share their experience and real-life case studies throughout the course.
